Research
Yoga therapy can be a wonderful complementary therapy to traditional medical interventions. For example,
In a study on Mindfulness Meditation and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for insomnia, it was found that increases in mindfulness skills contributed to an improvement in daytime alertness. Researchers found that 61% of participants reported no incidences of insomnia during the follow-up period.
Researchers found that physical yoga postures can reverse bone loss that has reached the stages of osteopenia and osteoporosis.
In a study on women with fibromyalgia, individuals who practiced gentle poses, meditation, breathing exercises, yoga-based coping tools, and group discussions reported a reduction of pain and fatigue, as well as positive improvements in mood.
These are just a few examples of the positive benefits of yoga therapy. I would love the opportunity to further discuss how yoga therapy can improve your life! I look forward to meeting you soon!
